Day 10 Arctic Ocean

Hello from the GREAT BIG NORTH.

Jack has made it to Kugluktuk on the edge of the Arctic ocean.
I have been trying to add some pictures but having problems importing them.
No cell reception but see his message to me

I've been taken in by local pilot Larry  and wife Helen overlooking bay beautiful  in kugluctuk.
Better not abuse my privileges so good night,   hope to get to Cambridge Bay tomorrow weather permitting!
colville lake very nice area—anyway not lot to report except big country here!
Larry is a pro officer as well! small world. He also learned to fly same place as Steve did Harvs in Steinbeck on satrabio.  Small world!

This is a copy of the SPOT image where he is. You can clearly see the airstrip.

Kugluktuk is located on the shore of the Arctic Ocean
The surrounding landscape is dominated by the rocky and often barren Canadian Shield
The region has a subarctic climate, but barely so, with July having an average of 10.7 °C (51.3 °F).
It has very cold winters, light snowfall, and summers too cool to permit the growth of trees.
Though trees do exist in the region, they are dwarfed and extremely sparse.

Happy that the eagle found a nest for the night...probably a shower too =)...ahhh the joys of running water.
